New staff orientation toolkit

The first 90 days in a job is a critical time for every new employee as he/she learns about their new role, team and organisation. A good orientation programme assists the new employee to transition into the role smoothly and quickly.

The checklists and tools in the toolkit are a guide to the essential systems, people and programmes necessary to begin working effectively and in an aligned way at Waitemata DHB. While we are a diverse organisation, we do need to make sure that there is some consistency across the board in terms of how we welcome and support our new employees into their roles.

Ongoing development

A range of programmes is also available to support ongoing development, for both clinical and non-clinical staff. These include for example - diversity, coaching, presentation skills,  communication workshops, personal organisation skills etc. To find out more view our course list.
